Site Operations Sector (SO), 2026 – Present

In 2026 the CERN Management adopted a new organizational structure.The Site Operations Sector, newly created, is responsible for planning, transforming and delivering non-scientific operational services and expertise, and continuously optimising day-to-day site operations so that every CERN department and the wider community can focus on world-leading research.

The SO sector comprises three departments and three services:

• Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Protection department
• Site and Civil Engineering department
• Organisational Support and Improvement department
  
• Audit and Investigations Service (AIS)
• Legal Service (LS)
• Internal Justice Secretariat (IJS)
